The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has congratulated the citizens to participate in the meetings of the political parties that continue in Zanzibar without breaking the peace and to encourage the speakers of the meetings to preach peace, stability, solidarity and reconciliation.
Democracy wants to consult that is (Constructive Criticism) to explain constructive things and not to create or explain unrealistic things to mislead the public.
Dr. Mwinyi said the challenge of Malindi Port is caused by one main thing which is having one small pier to unload cargo which causes queues of ships to unload for up to 7 days, however he explained that the solution to the challenge is to have a bigger port and many piers with modern equipment, however, the Government has taken the step of ordering new tools that have already started to be used to reduce the time of unloading cargo at the port.
President Dr. Mwinyi said this when he met with journalists at the Zanzibar State House today on February 28, 2023.
THE GOVERNMENT HAS RECEIVED 32 BILLION FOR ANNUAL COLLECTIONS AT ZANZIBAR AIRPORT
The President of Zanzibar, the Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, the companies that were operating the services of the Abeid Amani Karume airport for more than 25 years, the airport was suffering losses, along with the Government paying the salaries of the airport’s employees. After the Dnata company started working in December (the last quarter of the year), the field-collected 8.1 billion shillings, where the average for the year is 32 billion shillings.
In terms of car parking fund collections, the airport was getting 2 million shillings compared to now, for the month of January the Government has collected 139 million shillings.
President Dr. Mwinyi said this when he met with journalists at the Zanzibar State House today on February 28, 2023.
FOOD TRADERS WILL BE CHARGED WITH AN OFFENSE OF MAJORATING THE ECONOMY OF ZANZIBAR
Dr. Mwinyi has explained that currently, the food situation is good and sufficient so the Government will take steps to ensure that it provides relief to the people towards the Holy Month of Ramadan, either President Dr. Mwinyi has added and said businessmen who monopolize food will be prosecuted for Economic Sabotage.
