1.2 SPECIFICATIONS FOR MATERIAL AND ANCILLARIES
The tender shall submit a detailed of all specifications, which he intends to follow foe material and ancillaries. British standard Specifications will be used as a guide and all workmanship, materials and equipment must confirm to those standards or the equivalent.
2.0 PURPOSE OF THE VEHICLE
The Fire Fighting Vehicle is required for Rescue of persons from crashed aircraft and for extinguishing aircraft fires.

4.0 BODY STRUCTURE
- The body structure shall make provision for the stowage of ancillary equipment in adequate lockers and the attainment of a satisfactory standard of aesthetics. The body structure shall be manufactured from any flame retardant

5.0 CHASSIS
- The Fire Fighting Vehicle shall be based on high performance, cross country, single – wheel drive chassis each mounting a water tank of capacities shown in general

6.0 CABIN
- Seating capacity shall provide for a crew of 5 in the cabin, including the driver, and riding position . Crew seats shall have safety belts for crew and breathing apparatus holders behind each seat so as to simplify donning during the emergency .

7.0 ENGINE
- The vehicle shall be power by a heavy duty multi cylinder diesel engine of adequate Horsepower to meet the requirements of this specification when rated at the manufacturers recommended P.M.

9.0 ACCESSORIES
- All lighting and electrical equipment shall be of standard 12 or 24 volt Dc type, readily available in Tanzania and shall comply with the requirements of all government vehicle

10.0 PUMPING SYSTEMS
- Generally the tender is free to submit any make of foam generating and water pumping system .

11.0 MONITOR SYSTEMS Roof monitor

11.2 Bumper Monitor
- The Bumper monitor shall be capable of being elevated at least 450 and , sufficiently to discharge the water – foam at least up to 55m from the front of the vehicle . 12.0 WATER/FOAM SYSTEM
- The water pump(s) shall be a centrifugal pump and be able to make suction on open water source .
- An approved type of primer shall be fitted .It should preferably be fully automatic, thus eliminating the need for any action by the pump
- Irrespective of the size of the pump inlet , the suction connection for working from open water shall be standard 4” round thread (B.S.336) fitted with a removable stainless steel V4 inch mesh strainer and shall be not more than four feet (1.2m) from ground level. A total of 32ft of 4”(10m x 102mm) light weight suction hose shall be provided and carried on suitable brackets .

13.0 WATER TANK
- The water tank (of capacities specified in the general of Requirements ) shall be of stainless steel contraction longitudinal and lateral baffles shall be fitted to prevent surge. The tank shall be of a cross section such that the centre of gravity is as low as possible consistent with adequate ground clearance requirements . It shall be flexibly four pint mounted to counteract any effect due to chassis whip or distortion when operating over terrain .
