Whilst she was still a student, Oprah began putting her Communication skills to work. She presented the news part time at WVOL, a Nashville-based radio station which broadcast predominantly to Tennessee’s African-American community.
On graduating, she moved to WLAC-TV(a CBS-affiliated TV station),also in Nashville, and became their first black female news anchor. Oprah was also the youngest news anchor hired by the channel.
