The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) and the Good Neighbours-Tanzania have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve the existing curriculum that will produce more credible and employable graduates.

SUZA Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Dr. Makame Ali Usi signed on behalf of the University while Good Neighbours- Tanzania Executive Director, Mincheol Park, signed for his institution during a function held at Forodhani.

Dr. Usi commended the Good Neighbours Tanzania for developing a project that will help Zanzibar students perform better.

He said SUZA has a responsibility to promote the quality of education in Zanzibar for the development of the country and its people.

He added the agreement would also help build the capacity of secondary school students in science and mathematics subjects to improve performance in the national examinations.

Good Neighbors Tanzania Executive Director, Mincheol Park, said the partnership aims to ensure students get better education and excel in their studies.

He added that was an important opportunity for his institution and SUZA to empower teachers to improve teaching science subjects.

The project officer, Baraka Francis, said the project will train teachers in both Unguja and Pemba schools who teach science and mathematics subjects.

He strongly urged teachers who will participate in the project to work hard after undergoing the training.
